Crowd calendars have been a staple for many people planning Disney World vacations, but exactly what do they do? If you are a repeat visitor, it can be easy to want to compare crowd levels from previous trip dates to future trip dates.

Typically, aside from what we saw in and , more people are going to visit Walt Disney World year-over-year. The monthly calendars are easily customized to display the exact information you need for all 4 parks:. We recommend you use the information on this page to guide you as you select your travel dates, and then use the monthly crowd calendars linked below each month to help you plan your individual days.

As you can imagine, anytime something major opens or something popular closes, the crowds in the parks are heavily impacted. Crowd levels are fluid from year to year. For several years, we have been highly anticipating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. We reviewed Disney Crocs after wearing them all day in the parks! Here's our thoughts. We've got an update on the Brightline train that will take passengers from Miami to Still wondering what's up with Mears Connect, the replacement bus service at Disney World?

We are going March 10, Hoping that it will be less crowded than April. Spring break for us is the week after Easter; some schools go with the week before Easter. Easter is April 17, Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Notify me of followup comments via e-mail. Thank you for your thoughts on this. The Disney Marathon weekend does bring some elevated crowds than perhaps other weekends in January, but you would likely see the impact more with hotel reservations, dining reservations and transportation particularly in the mornings , rather than inside the parks. Some are there solely to run, while others do stick around. The races themselves start very early in the morning, so most of the running events do not have a large impact during park hours, except for Epcot where the full marathon ends and transportation in the mornings if you want to rope drop.

If you want to avoid altogether, we do recommend the last weekend in January. But since it hasn't been officially announced yet, we'd suggest waiting to make any changes until it's confirmed. Thanks so much for the information. We have booked our first Disney trip for February since our daughter is out of school that week. I noticed that this is a busy time and just wondering if April would be more or less crowded. Most of April will be busy due to the spring break season, especially since Easter will fall on April 17 and generally the week following Easter is a popular break time.

So, depending on when in April you'd visit, you could hit a less crowded week during the spring break season most likely, the first week of April , but we'd avoid the week immediately before and after Easter.

We are booking for November 7th thru the 11th I have never seen Disney with Holiday Decorations. Is this a good time to go. As a side note we usually Go the week of Mothers day are the crowds similar?

Early November is generally a good time to go! There may be some crowds around Veterans Day at the end of your trip. It's right about the same as Mother's Day — you can use our Crowd Calendar to compare expected crowd levels. I'm wife and i are looking to go for October since we both have not been able to take any vacation since the pandemic due to working in hospitals. We are looking to avoid October 1st since the celebration of the 50th starts on that day. What would your opinion on going to Disney the week of the 3rd?

Article is a great read and thank you for your response. While Oct. There is a lot hoppening , due to 50th Anniversary Celebration festivities being spread out in all four theme parks. Also, the dates for Boo Bash, which is hoppening simultaneously, during that week have sold out, giving some indication of potential crowds. You may want to consider the third week in October, if possible, to avoid the initial week of the 50th Anniversary Celebration and the Columbus Day holiday weekend.

Early November should also be a good time, if you're able to wait until then. Good Evening!!! Can you please inform me when we would like to visit Disney Magic world. Is it open for Indians if not when it will be opened, so that the US Tour can be arranged and finalised accordingly from Pune.

With Best Regards, Narendra Umbrajkar. Currently, there are still travel restrictions in effect for international visitors from certain countries, including India.

Unfortunately, we do not have a timeline for when the restrictions will be lifted. Love all of your information!! How much affect does Mardi Gras have on Disney crowds? I've read some very differing opinions on this - some say little affect, others say southern schools are out and crowds increase dramatically. Is there anything going on during the first week that would make it more crowded? And why are February 7 and 8 high in crowd prediction?

Thank you so much! From our experience, Mardi Gras typically doesn't have a huge effect on crowds, so any of those options would be great.

We've been there during the last weekend of January and crowds were low. While you would avoid Presidents Day weekend, sometimes the weekends directly before and after see some crowds as well, but they aren't usually as busy.

We have a reservation from Feb , and Will it be crowded in your opinion and I wonder how many WDW days of tickets we should get-given that we may skip a day or two, but maybe not. First day we can go to a WDW park is the 7th. Since Presidents Day falls on Feb. This should give you flexibility to space out your trip if you wish to skip a day or two.

Ultimately, the decision is all up to you, but we think having at least a day off over the weekend would give you time to recharge in the middle of your vacation. Those April dates would be in the middle of the spring break season. Since Easter is much later in April it'll fall on April 17 , that typically means a longer, but less busy spring break season due to crowds being spread over a longer period of time. Also, keep in mind that some schools will coordinate their spring breaks with the week following Easter, so you may still run into those crowds.

In October, it can get more crowded on weekends especially as it gets closer to Halloween but most weekdays have average crowds. Take a peek at our Crowd Calendar to compare expected crowd levels Oct.

Will this clash with Spring break. Easter will fall on April 17 next year, so you will likely catch the end of the spring break season. Since Easter is much later in April, that typically means a longer, but less busy spring break season due to crowds being spread over a longer period of time. Also, keep in mind that some schools will coordinate their spring breaks with the week following Easter, so you may run into those crowds.

We would agree that the weather is better in April though. Looking at January February 4 or February March 4. Any suggestions on which is better crowd wise. We went first week of March and crowds were great but I see Mardi Gras is first week of March Crowd-wise, we'd suggest Jan. Mardi Gras at Universal Disney World typically doesn't celebrate it other than special treats that may pop up usually doesn't start until the first or second week of February, so you'll likely miss those crowds.

The dates were just released for the Halloween Party. Looks like mostly Tuesdays and Fridays. We are thinking to avoid the Magic Kingdom on those days, assuming it will be more crowded, but would like your opinion. This is slightly different from previous years with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, during which all event guests could enter as early as 4 p.

There still may be guests who stay during both day and night at Magic Kingdom, so it may be safe to avoid Tuesdays and Fridays. We are planning a trip for April, and hoping to stay in a deluxe villa but it looks like nothing is available on Disney World's resort website at this time. Could all deluxe villas really already be booked or will more bookings open up in the coming months??

If you're not a DVC member, that is likely why you are not seeing any availability, as those limited number of rooms may be booked. It wouldn't hurt to keep checking! There isn't a specific reason, but crowds start to pick up on the weekends during May, particularly in the second half of the month. Generally, weekends are more popular than weekdays! Most colleges and universities in Florida start summer breaks by the first weekend in May, so grad visits may be a small factor as well.

We're at the beginning stages of planning a Disney World trip sometime in the first two weeks of May Most of our trip will be made up of weekdays, but there will be one weekend in there. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know why weekends in May are considered some of the worst times to go? Is it due to local residents attending Flower and Garden? Just wondered - sometimes specific reasons for crowd levels factor into our planning. There isn't a specific reason — it just starts picking up in general, and weekends are always more popular than weekdays, particularly in the second half of the month.

Some people who visit during Halloween may stay until they see the Christmas decor, resulting in some crowds. It may also get busy around Veterans Day. However, overall crowds are just about medium average , especially weekdays. It's right at the end of Florida's rainy season, so it may still be hot and humid during the day, but it may also start to get cooler at night. Oh no! Slightly panicking as we can only really go 26th may- 12th June because of school exams.

Will this be awful with crowds? Are you visiting currently, or in ? Either way, we maintain that the best time to visit is when you're able! Things will be busy, but they should be manageable with some planning. I'm from the UK and looking to rebook our first Disney trip the third and hopefully final time. We have two options for dates in 24th April - 8th May or 13th October - 27th October. Any advice on which would be the better option weather and crowd wise?

Both are good options! April has a slight edge over October in terms of weather and crowds. It's right before the rainy season starts while mid-October would be at the tail-end and it would fall a week after Easter, which is when the spring break season would end in But if you're a fan of Halloween, then the special events and decor in October is also something to consider.

If not, we'd suggest April! This will be our first Disney trip with friends and family. We want to go next year We have have a couple of options when we can go. We have split opinions of when we should go. What are some pros and cons on those time frames?

BTW, I love your website, great information for a first timer! Thanks so much for hopping by, and we're so glad to help, especially as a first-timer! As far as crowds go, both options will see heavier crowds, as those are popular times for families to be at Disney World during spring break or summer vacation.

How late into the summer would you be able to go? If you're able to wait until the end of August, local schools will be starting the school year by mid-August, so crowds may start to lessen by the second half of the month. Another big consideration is the weather. March generally has nicer weather than summer. While the weather is more unpredictable in March can vary with low, moderate and high temperatures , summer is right in the middle of Florida's wet season and temperatures are high all of the time.

If we were to decide solely based on the weather, we'd choose March over June, July or August. Lastly, we would suggest considering any special events. Regardless of your choice, you'll be visiting during the 50th Anniversary Celebration, so expect special surprises during whichever time you decide on.

I am planning to visit the Parks between April 20 - 26, Do you thin that will be significative very complicated before April 24? The Easter crowds usually stick around for the week following the holiday, so it's likely that you may run into higher crowds through April Since Easter falls later in , the spring break season lasts longer starting the first week of March but crowds may be more spread out.
